Boomers should expect to compete for another Olympic medal, according to basketball great

Australian basketball legend Andrew Gaze says the Boomers should expect to be in the running to win another medal at the upcoming Olympics.

Led by Paddy Mills, the men’s national team famously won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games, and Gaze told Shane McInnes competition will once again be fierce in Paris as Australia’s star-studded side eyes making more history.

“The margins (at this Olympic level) are so small,” he said on The Olympics Today podcast.

“We are rightful in our expectation to compete for a medal, but it’s hard for us right now we’re currently in a pool where we only know one opponent.”
