Body found in burning tent near Geelong Racecourse

A person has been found dead following a tent fire near Geelong.

CFA crews were first called to reports of a tent of fire on Breakwater Road near the Geelong Racecourse about 2am.

Upon extinguishing the blaze, firefighters they discovered the body.

The deceased person is yet to be identified.

The cause of death is not yet known, nor the exact circumstances.

Police say they are not treating the matter as suspicious, however the arson squad has been called to investigate.
