‘Bloody amazing’: Victorian distillery named best in the world

A Victorian whisky distillery has been named the best in the world in a prestigious international spirit competition.

Starward Whisky went up against over 5000 spirits and has taken out the title of Most Awarded Distillery of the Year at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

“It’s bloody amazing,” Starward Whisky founder David Vitale told Stephen Quartermain and Elise Elliott, filling in for Ross and Russel.

“Starward got 12 double gold medals … it’s a clean sweep of golds from each of the judges,” he said.
