Billy’s Busker: Brooke Russell performs on The Weekend Break

Singer and songwriter Brooke Russell joined Grubby and Dee Dee on The Weekend Break on Sunday.

She’s trained in classical guitar, but says she’s also studied jazz performance as a singer.

She performed in the 3AW studio for Billy Pinnell’s Busker of the Week segment.

“I kind of ended up being a country singer it’s been quite a journey!” she said.

She has busked on and off over her musical career, but says she doesn’t perform her own original songs.

“I think that’s where busking is really interesting, trying to grab people as they are goign abotu their day, if you can make someone stop in the street,” she said.
