Bernie Finn says he won’t be attending ‘kangaroo court’ Liberal party room meeting
Controversial Liberal MP Bernie Finn says he won’t be fronting his colleagues this week to explain why he shouldn’t be booted out of the party.
He told 3AW it was a “kangaroo court” and won’t be “legitimising it” by attending.
Opposition leader Matthew Guy has moved to expel Mr Finn from the Liberal party following a string of controversies Mr Guy says have brought the party into disrepute.
But he’s given Mr Finn the chance to plead his case to his colleagues first.
“I will not be there,” he told Neil Mitchell.
Mr Finn said he wouldn’t be resigning from the party, either.
But he’s hinted at joining another political party, should he be expelled.
Mr Finn said he’d previously been asked to join “five, six, up to seven” other parties.
“They are offers I might revisit,” he said.
