Ben King answers the contract question on everyone’s lips

Out of contract Gold Coast Suns forward Ben King says he is “definitely” close to re-signing with the club.

King is entering the final year of a two-year deal he signed at the start of 2022 and will be under the tutelage of new coach Damien Hardwick this season.

The 23-year-old said he remains extremely optimistic about the direction the footy club is heading in after an unsettling period last year, which saw the eventual departure of former coach Stuart Dew.

“Definitely,” King told Wide World of Sports when asked whether he was close to re-signing with Gold Coast.

“I love the footy club and love the people up here. I’m more confident than ever that in football terms, we’re really heading in the right direction.”
