‘Belt-tightening’ in Australia still to come as inflation pressure grows
Retail experts say the cost of household essentials are likely to keep going up in price due to inflation.
Inflation has risen to 6.1 per cent (up from 5.1 per cent) in Australia, which is slightly less than some economists predicted.
But Fleur Brown, Chief Industry Affairs Officer at the Australian Retailers Association, said challenges remained.
“I think there is a bit more pain to come, unfortunately,” she said.
