Carlton United Brewing (CUB) has launched a special new beer in the wake of England’s “bitter” response to batsman Jonny Bairstow’s dismissal in the Ashes at Lord’s.

It comes after England coach Brendon McCullum said he “can’t imagine we’ll be having a beer with them anytime soon” directed towards the Australian team.

CUB spokesman and VB Marketing manager, Marc Lord, says the beer “definitely has a little bit of a bitter aftertaste” whilst firing a cheeky shot towards the English.

“We’ve created a beer that’s best drunk warm, we’ve sent a few slabs over so when they calm down, they can maybe share a beer in the rooms after we take the series in a sweep,” Mr Lord told Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen, filling in for Ross and Russel.
