SIXERS WIN
Sydney Sixers have coasted to an easy victory at the MCG, beating a beleaguered Melbourne Stars by eight wickets
The Sixers made a mockery of the Stars target, chasing it down with 29 deliveries in hand.
Nic Maddinson blasted fifty off just 23 balls – the second-quickest half-century of any Sixers player in BBL history – before being dismissed for 62 to secure their second win this season.
Daniel Hughes also chipped in with an unbeaten 49 off 46 balls.

INNINGS BREAK
The Melbourne Stars have continued to struggle, posting a disapointing 7/128 after 20 overs.
Nathan Lyon wrecked havoc all night, taking an incredible 3-18 off his four-over spell. Sean Abbott was also potent, taking the key wickets of Maxwell and Wright on the way to figures of 2-35.
Glenn Maxwell (28) provided a bit of resistance but holed out cheaply after showing early promise.

PREVIEW
Melbourne Stars return to the MCG tonight for a celler-dweller battle with Sydney Sixers.
These sides have been the two most disappointing outfits of BBL|07 thus far and will be hellbent on turning things around, even if finals action seems a long way off with just a few games to play.
West Indian Carlos Brathwaite – who came in after Jason Roy and Sam Billings’ call up to the England ODI squad – looked good on debut in the crosstown derby last Saturday, taking a wicket on the way to the Sixers’ first win of the season.
The Stars have also been decimated by international call ups but had their own Derby success last Friday, eventually prevailing against the Renegades on the back of Kevin Pietersen’s (73 off 46) man-of-the-match performance.
Tonight’s clash from a sunny MCG is one of pride. For two of the biggest BBL franchises, this season has underwhelmed and they’ll both be looking to put things right in the second half of the season.
