Barry Humphries pays tribute to Ronnie Corbett on 3AW Breakfast

Australian comedian Barry Humphries has described Ronnie Corbett as a ‘total gent’ following the death of the popular British entertainer.

Corbett died on Thursday at the age of 85.

Humphries, best known for playing Dame Edna, told 3AW Breakfast Corbett was always a supportive influence on his career.

‘He was always tremendously supportive of young comedians and I was several years younger than he was,’ Humphries said with a dry laugh.

‘He was a total gent.

‘It may be irreverent for me to say this, but I always looked up to him ? even when I was looking down at him.’
