‘Bad day for the MFB’: Double leak in firefighters’ pay feud
Separate leaks to Melbourne’s major newspapers have painted a worrying picture about the state of the MFB.
HERALD SUN: Firefighters could be absent from work on full pay for up to 196 days a year under a new workplace deal due to be voted on by Metropolitan Fire Brigade staff in the next week.
THE AGE: A scathing Human Rights Commission report has uncovered “everyday sexism” and a “hyper-masculine culture” in the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, and has warned that workers could be exposed to further harm under an industrial agreement pushed by the Andrews government.
