Australians want ‘more diversity’ in ads, survey suggests
A new survey shows Australians would like to see more diversity in the advertisements we are exposed to.
Petra O’Halloran from Getty Images said the survey of 1000 Australian consumers found more than two thirds would like to see greater diversity in body type, age, gender, sexuality and ethnicity.
“We came to realise Australians aren’t happy with the way they are being represented in advertising they want to relate to those they see on the screens,” she told Tom Elliott.
“The research is in, and we’ve got 75 per cent of people saying brands need to do more represent Australians authentically.
“We need to have a broader range of people represented, which is more authentic to what we see day to day.”
