Australians have been “conned” into thinking they’re better off sending their children to private schools, says Jane Caro.
It comes on the back of new data that showed private school enrolments have gone up 25 per cent in the past decade, despite cost-of-living pressures.

The education activist told Neil Mitchell government policy since 2000 had actively encouraged parents to get their children out of government schools.
“And that has been accompanied by systemic under-funding of government schools,” she said.
