Australian sprinting legend Betty Cuthbert dies aged 79

Betty Cuthbert has died.

The Australian sprinting champion has battled multiple sclerosis.

She won gold in the 100 metre sprint and 200 metre sprint at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, feats which saw her recognised with a statue outside the MCG.

She was 79.
