The shocking new report which reflects the reality of emergency departments

A new report has shown ambulances are spending more time ramped outside emergency departments now than they did five years ago.
Vice-president of the Australian Medical Association, Julian Rait, says the new report reflects the reality of public hospitals not being able to cope with the demand.
“Most unfortunately, of course, in some situations we hear of tragedies where people die waiting in the back of ambulances before they get admitted,” he told Shane McInnes, filling in for Tony Moclair.

He’s also called on the government to bring back the axed Health Force Australia service at a time when federal opposition leader Peter Dutton has called for more cuts to the public service.
“So that we can actually plan and properly recruit people to work in various, different professions important for hospital care,” he said.
