Over a million Australians have jetted off to Bali so far in 2023, but rules on certain aspects of a typical trip to the popular holiday destination have changed since it re-opened after COVID.

CEO of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents Dean Long told Tony Jones that holidaymakers should expect a different type of experience when compared to pre-pandemic conditions.

“There’s about 1.2 million (Australians) that have visited Bali (so far this year) and that’s only slightly down from pre-pandemic levels,” Mr Long told 3AW Mornings with Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.

“There are some headwinds and they’ve definitely made some changes to what you can do in Bali and there’s people who are reassessing Bali being their holiday destination of choice.”
