Australian Grand Prix ‘rort’ exposed as tickets go on sale for 2025 race
Tickets have gone on sale for one of the most anticipated events in Melbourne next year – the upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix in March.
But there’s been significant blowback on social media after Ticketmaster introduced dynamic pricing, which sees ticket prices rise as demand for seats increases.
Shane McInnes says the model is a “rort”, calling out ticket companies for taking advantage of those looking to lock in tickets for major events.

“You’ve got to remember people save to attend a major event such as the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix,”
“For those who’ve paid extra to access to early ticket sales to still be stung by dynamic ticketing, that’s a rort.”
