At least 7 die, dozens injured after tram derails in Croydon, London
A tram has derailed during the morning rush hour in south London, killing seven people and injuring more than 50 others.
The tram derailed just after 6am London time on Wednesday morning.
British Transport Police are investigating whether the train driver fell asleep, the BBC reports.
Speed may also be a factor in the fatal accident.
The carriages derailed near a stop close to central Croydon.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
