Anthony Albanese stops short of praising colleague Emma Husar following her resignation
The Federal Shadow Minister for Transport and Infrastructure has stopped short of praising outgoing colleague Emma Husar, following the embattled MP’s resignation yesterday.
Husar quit amid claims she bullied former staff and misused her entitlements.
The New South Wales branch of the Labor Party had been investigating claims against Ms Husar since March, with over 20 former staff members coming forward with allegations against her.
Anthony Albanese told Neil Mitchell he “certainly didn’t have any role” in her downfall.
NM: Is she a loss to the parliament?
AA: Well she’s someone who was in her first term so we won’t know what contribution she could have made.
NM: You’re damning with faint praise here
AA: Well she made a decision to go, its not a matter of what my thoughts are. There were various rumours about issues with staff that I had heard.
NM: Did you do anything about it?
AA: If you did something about that you wouldn’t do your job, if every time you heard something about someone might have happened in the building.
