RUMOUR CONFIRMED
Police were called to a junior footy match on the weekend after another ugly incident allegedly involving parents and a young umpire.
Rumour File contributor Unruly Parents said the incident happened at the under 13s game between Frankston YCW and Bon Beach yesterday, where an umpire was allegedly abused by spectators.
She said it ended with an off-duty police officer escorting a spectator from the ground.
It’s believed the umpire is 16-years-old.
A spokesperson for the AFL South East region has confirmed police were called and said presidents of both clubs have been contacted to provide a written statement.
An investigation is ongoing.
Frankston YCW Stonecats President Michael Lamb said the matter is before the courts.
He said what happened is “extremely regrettable”.
