Another two paddle boarders rescued in Port Phillip

Another two paddle boarders have been rescued in Port Phillip.

Search and rescue crews, including water police and the police airwing, were deployed when two women went missing while paddling in the Frankston area last night.

The pair were found almost a kilometre off shore about 30 minutes into the search.

It comes after four paddle boarders survived after drifting from Rosebud to Swan Island on Monday night.

Nick King from Sunny King Paddleboards says recent easterly winds are lulling people into a false sense of security.

“It might be 20 or 30 knots so it’s quite strong but it’s going the other way so you can’t see any of the waves,” he told Jacqui Felgate and Jimmy Bartel, filling in for Ross and Russel.

“If people go out, thye might go out 100 metres or so and then there’s no coverage from the cliffs or buildings.”
