Angry passenger storms tarmac and tries to kick in plane door
A passenger who missed his earlier flight has managed to storm out onto the tarmac and has attempted to break into the door of Jetstar plane.
Jetstar have confirmed the incident occurred at Melbourne Airport about 9.30am where, “a passenger assaulted several of our crew and breached security access to the tarmac”.
Footage of the incident, obtained by Nine News, shows the man forcibly pulling and kicking the the door.
Police arrived and restrained the man.
He has been immediately banned from travelling on all Jetstar and Qantas flights.
Channel 9 reporter Kieran Jones told Tom Elliott the man was scheduled to be on a flight to Adelaide earlier this morning.
“He climbs up the stairs towards the plane, he tries to bash his way into the door and he’s almost successful,” Kieran said.
“The fact that he was on the tarmac and made it all the way up he stairs in the first place is disturbing.”
