The Andrews government has proposed changes to ice trafficking laws that would see the threshold for charging offenders with commercial trafficking offences halved.

John Rogerson, CEO of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation spoke with Nick McCallum.

Mr Rogerson says it will be a few years to evaluate if it works.

‘It’s certainly a very important message to get through to people that are selling or trafficking a drug.’

‘The penalties now kick in much earlier; it’s going to be very difficult for them. It’s a positive thing.’  – Mr Rogerson told 3AW Drive.
