Allan government accused of using ‘weasel words’ after SRL misses budget funding

Jacinta Allan’s government has been accused of using “weasel words” as it tries to justify spending over $34 billion on the Suburban Rail Loop.

Despite Treasurer Jim Chalmers confirming to Tom Elliott that no extra funding has been committed to the train line between Cheltenham and Box Hill, the Premier remains steadfast that the government is supportive of the project.

“This is the height of financial mismanagement,” she said on 3AW Drive.

“Put more money into airport rail, at the moment, the government is using weasel words.”
