Akon Guode sentenced to minimum of 20 years jail over Wyndham Vale lake crash
Akon Guode has been sentenced to 26-and-a-half years jail.
She pleaded guilty to the infanticide of her one-year-old son, and the murders of her four-year-old twins.
Guode killed three of her seven children when she drove into a Wyndham Vale lake in 2015.
She’ll serve a minimum of 20 years behind bars.
There was a brief delay before the sentence was handed down in the Supreme Court, with an adjournment called as Guode sobbed in the dock.
Justice Lex Lasry said it would have been a life sentence, had she pleaded not guilty.
More to come.
