AFL members caught up in Grand Final ticket drama
LATEST: AFL members caught up in a Grand Final ticket bungle will get their tickets today after the debacle played out on Neil Mitchell’s program yesterday.
Michael Giulieri, an AFL member for 20 years, was in limbo after his family tried to buy tickets on Sunday, but was told there was no record of purchase despite being charged for them.
But he told Neil Mitchell today, the problem had finally been resolved.
‘We heard from senior management at the AFL and they worked most of the afternoon with Ticketek and they’ve rung and said they’ve got tickets for us to collect at Ticketek,’ he said.
Ticketek said yesterday they were investigating what went wrong dozens of calls to 3AW Mornings.
Mr Giulieri said he was frustrated and bewildered yesterday.
Ticketek’s managing director Cameron Hoy said yesterday there were about 30 or so cases they were looking into to investigate what went wrong.
‘We are working with the AFL to go through every one of those and I’m confident that together we will have that result by the end of the day,’ he said.
He admitted there had been a few issues this year for AFL fans.
