AFL issues apology to Lance Franklin

The AFL has issued an apology to Lance Franklin.

It comes after the league’s counsel accused Franklin over “cowardly behaviour” at the tribunal on Wednesday night.

Franklin will miss this week’s clash with Melbourne after he was found guilty of striking Richmond champion Trent Cotchin.

Franklin failed to get that suspension overturned on appeal.
