AFL great surprised at Gold Coast’s reported Dustin Martin interest

Leigh Matthews admits he’s surprised by Gold Coast’s reported interest in unrestricted free agent Dustin Martin as his future continues to come under question.

Martin is currently weighing up his future in the game, with multiple reports now suggestions the Suns are well within the frame to prise the Richmond great out of Punt Road.

But Leigh Matthews wonders how much good football the 33-year-old has left in him.

“It surprises me a little that Gold Coast would be investing in Dustin Martin at this point,” Leigh said on Wide World of Sports.

“Another year under his belt, it’s more about where Dustin Martin will be as a player to help the Suns.”
