AFL chief’s clip ‘didn’t go down well’ with struggling club
Caroline Wilson says St Kilda officials were left far from impressed by a public clip from AFL boss Gillon McLachlan.
The chief executive of the league said there were “no more excuses” for the Saints, who Wilson said were in the “financial dog house” due to debt.
“I don’t think it went down particularly well,” Caro said on 3AW.
She said the Saints felt the AFL had played a major part in their recent financial problems, due to a poor Etihad Stadium deal.
The club’s controversial move to Seaford also played a part.
“That move will go down as one of, if not the worst decision in the club’s history,” Caro said.
“It was a shocker.”
