AFL boss Gillon McLachlan declares Queensland ‘an AFL state’
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan says Queensland is “becoming an AFL state”.
The AFL boss told Neil Mitchell AFL will “be the biggest sport in that market within five to 10 years on most metrics”.

“The growth in the football in Queensland has been dramatic, on the Gold Coast particularly. We’ll have more participants this year in Queensland than the NRL – first time we’ll break that record,” he said.
