AFL boss addresses explosive Hawthorn allegations

The AFL will establish an “external, independent” panel of four to investigate explosive allegations levelled at Hawthorn about their treatment of Indigenous footballers while Alastair Clarkson was coaching the club.

AFL boss Gillon McLachlan addressed the situation on Wednesday morning.

“These are serious allegations and it’s important we treat them appropriately,” the AFL chief executive said.

“We need to run a proper investigation to get to the bottom of it.”
