BUKU, WON’T YOU?
On my healthy eating kick this week, I was ready to dish out a delivery of guilt-inducing looking cakes that arrived at work, until I realised that Buku Cakery is all about clean eating. The Beetroot Brownie was out of this world, their offerings are largely gluten and refined sugar-free, vegan and vegetarian. All that aside, they were seriously tasty!

If you’re not getting all horsey for Cup weekend, then head down to Geelong and get involved in the Toast to the Coast. With more than 25 wineries involved, the highlights include a prosecco and oyster bar & Korean BBQ at Austins & Co; ‘Froses’ at Leura Park Estate (frozen Moscato, Mojito or Cosmopolitans); and classic jazz tunes in the Barrel Hall at Scotchmans Hill.

If you ARE getting all horsey in November, then you may be interesting in what those VIPs in the Birdcage are getting up to. Of course THE place to be is the Emirates Marquee, and there’s always a bit of excitement around the announcement of their theme each year. This year? Why, it’s good ole Australia! Celebrating 20 years in Oz, it’ll be all eucalyptus, kangaroo paw and cockatoos. Guests will dine on rare WA pearl meat, finger lime pearls, Victorian lamb and Balmain Bug. Lucky them!

Keen to get out of town? The Eurambeen Historic Homestead is hosting an Open Garden on the 19th and 20th November with a decidedly gourmet feel. You’ll be able to buy morsels and liquid refershments from Mt Langi Ghiran wines, Red Duck Brewery and Tastee Treats, as well as explore the three acre Edna Walling-designed gardens.
