News that the Mornington Peninsula council is considering closing the main street in Sorrento during the festive period has prompted Tom Elliott to ask: Why do councils do so many dumb things?
City of Yarra councillor Stephen Jolly says it’s because councillors “fall in love with themselves and they think that their interests come first”.
“They live in a bubble,” he told Tom Elliott.
