Badly decomposed body found at Mount Macedon identified as Karen Ristevski
The badly decomposed body found near Mount Macedon has been identified as missing woman Karen Ristevski.
Police received forensic testing results on Tuesday afternoon.
The body of the missing Avondale Heights mother, who disappeared in June last year, was found under a log by a walker on Monday afternoon.
Line searches were conducted at the scene on Tuesday while the remains were tested.
Police have visited the Ristevski home, speaking with Karen’s daughter Sarah and husband Boris, who reported her missing after what he said was a heated discussion over her business.
Police are now appealing to anybody who may have been walking along the dirt track off Loch Road, or anyone that may have seen any vehicles, to contact them.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Sly Of The Underworld spoke with Ross and John about the case.
‘What we do know is that her mobile phone pinged near Gisborne,’ he said on 3AW Breakfast.
‘We know that some of her relatives suggested that she may have engineered her own disappearance, got a false passport and gone overseas ? that’s clearly nonsense.’
