Aussie tennis ace Bernard Tomic is in hot water after using the word ‘retard’ during a press conference at Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old was responding to a question about being made to wait on court for opponent Fernando Verdasco.

A change-room mix up saw Tomic forced to wait around eight minutes on court before Verdasco appeared.

‘Unfortunately, I had to stand on court like a retard,’ Tomic said.

Disability groups in Britain and Australia are demanding an apology.
