Funnyman Colin Lane’s not often known for dabbling into serious acting roles.

But that’s exactly what he’s up to in a new play, Extinction, set in the Victorian Otways. 

He plays a coal mining executive who returns to his roots. 

Lane dropped in for a chat with Denis Walter, and they covered the new play, Denis’s name, puffer jackets, reading scripts and more. 

Extinction is on at the Arts Centre Melbourne, starting August 9.
