Education Minister explains the benefits of ‘Breakfast Club’ school program
Victorian baked beans and milk will be on the menu for schoolkids in 2017.
The State government has announced the ‘Breakfast Club’ program will also be helping struggling industries, such as dairy.
The program, introduced in term one this year, provides cereal, bread, and other staples to 500 of the most disadvantaged primary schools before the day starts.
‘Today we’re announcing that the milk will be exclusively Victorian milk, and the baked beans will be coming from SPC Ardmona,’ he said.
Mr Merlino said the program benefits the whole family.
‘I’ve found it’s also a way that the school can better engage with the parents,’ he said.
