Tickets to the AFL Grand Final set to rise by $25
Ticket prices to this year’s AFL Grand Final are set to rise by about $25.
Category Four seats will increase to $325, other categories will see rises of between $5 and $15.
However entry-level tickets for the first two weeks of finals will be the cheapest they’ve been since 2001 set at $35 dollars regardless of the venue.
President of the AFL Fans Association Gerry Eeman told Neil Mitchell the price hike is ‘unreasonable’.
‘It’s becoming out of reach for many grassroots fans,’ Mr Eeman said.
Mr Eeman said the proportion of tickets allocated to fans of the competing clubs should be increased.
‘If you’re going to increase the prices, give fans something back in return. Most fans crying for more access to Grand Final tickets,’ he said.
