Hosier Lane being overrun by aggressive homeless people and rampant drug use
Tourists and sightseers, including schoolchildren, are being confronted by rampant drug use and aggressive homeless people in one of Melbourne’s world-famous laneways.
The Herald Sun has captured disturbing images at Hosier Lane, revealing alcohol and drug use.
The manager of Movida, one of the city’s best restaurants, has been punched in the face in the laneway.
Movida owner Frank Camorra told 3AW Breakfast the situation was getting worse.
‘There’s confrontations all the time, whether they’re school kids or tourists,’ he told Ross and John.
‘I’ve personally seen tourists being abused by people that are living there, people being spat on.
‘It’s getting to a point where confrontation is happening and it’s only getting worse.’
