A sign posted on the door of an American school has won praise for teaching children resilience.

The sign instructs parents to turn around if they have come to drop off lunch, books or homework their child had left at home.

Herald Sun columnist Rita Panahi told Tom Elliott she was a fan.

‘We are raising a generation of indulged, entitled snowflakes with no coping skills,’ she said on 3AW Drive.

‘I think we know we are.
