Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield wins the AFL’s 2016 Brownlow Medal
Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield has won the AFL’s 2016 Brownlow Medal, admitting it was a nervous wait to be declared the league’s best and fairest.
‘I sort of tried to act cool, calmed and relaxed.’
‘But I must admit, I was pretty nervous underneath, and I must admit, as the count went on it didn’t become much easier.’ – says Dangerfield.
He polled a record 35 votes to finish nine clear of Sydney’s Luke Parker.
Richmond’s Dustin Martin was third.
