Dwayne Russell calls on the AFL to make Etihad recognisable as a footy venue
Dwayne Russell has called on the AFL to make Etihad Stadium instantly recognisable as a footy venue.
The AFL took ownership of the stadium today for a reported fee of up to $200 million.
And Dwayne says the AFL should get straight to work making it look like they own the place.
He said there should be statues of iconic stars and moments that have graced the stadium’s turf, such as the famous Gary Moorcroft mark.
He also said the tenant clubs should be able to name some of the bays in honour of their legends.
‘Let’s give the tenant clubs a look as if it is their home, rather than this cookie cutter, McDonalds-type situation that’s at Etihad Stadium at the moment.’
Dwayne said the AFL should look to Adelaide Oval as the benchmark.
