Medicinal cannabis production ramping up
Construction is expected to start next week at a new green-house for large scale cultivation and production of medicinal cannabis.
The Cann Group has shipped in the first prefabricated elements from the Netherlands for the facility to be built in Victoria’s North West.
Chief Executive Peter Crock has told Macquarie National News Rural Reporter Eddie Summerfield, the site will transform the industry for Australia.
“We’ll see the facility go up pretty quickly in terms of glass house structure, and fitting that out.”
The past three months has also seen the Victorian Government take delivery of the first Australian sourced and commercially grown cannabis resin for use by Australian patients.
“Our material is being purified and then provided to I think it’s going through the hospital system, with compound pharmacists who are doing the final work to provide that to patients,” Mr Crock said.
