New poll finds 49 per cent of Australians want an immediate ban on Muslim immigration
A new poll has found almost half the country supports one of Pauline Hanson’s most controversial policies.
The poll found 49 per cent of Australians supported an immediate ban on Muslim immigration.
Supporters of all major parties took part in the survey, with 60 per cent of Coalition voters supporting the idea and 40 per cent of Labor voters.
Australia’s refugee intake, lifted to 19,000, has been criticised by aid agencies and the opposition as too low.
Labor wants that figure boosted to 27,000.
