Senator Simon Birmingham explains how government is going after ‘dodgy’ degrees
The federal government is going after ‘dodgy degrees’ with a complete overhaul of education funding.
Senator Simon Birmingham, Minister for Education and Training, told Tom Elliott it was in the hope of removing courses with slim to no employment prospects.
‘What we’re proposing to do is run a test over all the different diploma level qualifications out funded under this program,’ he explained.
‘And for admittance as eligible courses on this new program, they’ll have to be on a skills needs list that the states and territories draw up.’
