Killer driver Puneet Puneet claims he was framed, victim’s family push for justice
The family of hit-run victim Dean Hofstee say they are concerned the man who killed their son and fled to India will never be brought to justice.
Puneet Puneet was speeding and drink driving during the accident in Southbank in 2008, he plead guilty but fled the country using a friend’s passport.
He was arrested in India in 2013, after a long legal process, his case has been adjourned again.
Puneet has vowed to fight his extradition claiming he was framed.
The victim’s father Peter Hoftsee told Neil Mitchell after eight years they want to close this chapter in their life.
‘The concern is that it will carry on for another eight years,’ he said.
‘We would certainly like to see the end of it, and see justice done.’
