The Selwood brothers have often been the hero of the story on the footy field.

Now, they are the heroes of a new series of kids books.

Troy, Adam, Joel, and Scott Selwood joined Denis Walter in the 3AW studio on Monday to explain how the series came about.

The first two books, Battle Royale and The Miracle Goal, are based on real moments in the brothers’ childhood, which they hope will resonate with young children.

The latter, for instance, centres around Joel helping a disadvantaged child to get into the game.
