Anti-bikie police are investigating a shooting in broad daylight outside a Coburg mosque earlier this week.

?Three men were walking along Moore Street at lunchtime on Easter Monday when a BMW four-wheel-drive pulled up next to them and fired a flurry of shots.

A 41-year-old man took a bullet to the stomach.

The trio fled in a Lexus sedan.

It’s believed the injured man is underworld figure Mohammed Oueida – a former drug king pin with links to the Comancheros motorcycle gang.

Detective Acting Inspector Stuart Bailey said police believed the assailants knew exactly where their victim was going to be.

Detectives are now trying to piece together what triggered the ambush and exactly who was involved.
