‘Do not approach’: Missing sex offender spotted far from home
Missing Victorian sex offender Christopher Empey has been sighted interstate.
Empey, 46, has been on the run since failing to comply with his monitoring condition on November 23 last year.
His tracking bracelet was found at Baddaginnie, near Benalla, and now he’s been seen in NSW.
Detectives believe Empey was riding a yellow 2005 Suzuki DR650 motorcycle (registration GD531) at Nowra, on the NSW south coast, in December.
Police have released a photo of Empey in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information about his whereabouts.
They have also release a CCTV image from Nowra.
“In this image he appears unshaven and is still wearing the same clothing he absconded in,” police said.
“It is also possible that he sustained some kind of injury.
Anyone who sights Empey is urged not to approach him but to contact triple zero (000) immediately.
Anyone with other information about his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
