Pilot turns back Melbourne-bound plane due to reports of threatening note
There has been a security scare on a Melbourne-bound flight.
A Tiger Air flight from Sydney to Melbourne was forced to turn back last night.
The pilot made the decision following reports of a threatening note found on the plane.
Australian Federal Police met the aircraft when it arrived in Sydney about 8.30pm.
Officers surrounded the plane and passengers were told to stay seated and switch off their phones.
Everyone was allowed to disembark several hours later and no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
